The story
No schedule lists the 3 a.m. freight. It passes anyway: a kilometer of black cars with no markings, windows where boxcars should not have windows, an air horn pitched a shade lower than any living engine. The crossing lights obey it. The paperwork does not know it exists. That, as far as anyone can tell, is the protocol. Dogs two blocks away refuse to bark at it. The ground learns its weight a full minute before the lights start to swing.
Freight Ghost Protocol is industrial drum and bass at full running speed: 175 BPM in F Minor, drums stamped out like couplings under load, a bassline that drags the whole track behind it the way a locomotive drags its own thunder.
