The story

Fuzz Cathedral runs at 92 BPM in D minor with guitars carrying essentially the entire arrangement, every classic technique audible somewhere in the mix: tremolo-picked tremors form a churning underlying loop, reverse-swelled chords arrive backwards on each turn, and octave fuzz doubles the main melody a full octave down for extra weight beneath the lead line.

Slide phrases smear between notes rather than landing cleanly, harmonics ring out on top of the denser layers, a phaser sweeps slowly across the whole wall, and tape echo repeats the last note of each phrase into a fading trail. Shimmer reverb opens the ceiling of the mix upward, while a deep melodic bassline carries the actual harmonic movement underneath all the guitar texture, drums arriving late and hitting hard.

The first bloom rises into a full wall of sound before collapsing back to a single clean guitar under audible tape hiss, the most exposed point in the piece. An extended mid-section then states a second theme in harmonized thirds, building steadily until the final wall towers over everything that came before it, guitars stacked to their absolute density.

A post-rock listening session, a cathedral or ruins film scene, instrumental guitar showcases, or slow-building live sets.
