The story
It opens almost empty: a sub-bass hum sitting at 30-60Hz like pressure in the walls, then a dropped coin ring and wet tile footsteps somewhere off to the side. The rain stick trickles in short granular bursts, more texture than rhythm, while a distant bell tolls underneath everything like a slow pulse train counting down.
Around the second minute the violin enters, solo and unhurried, phrasing long cinematic lines over a dry tight kick and sparse hi-hat triplets. Dub-chord stabs punch through the reverb tails just enough to mark the changes, and a detuned 808 sub keeps the low end fat and round without ever rushing the tempo.
Filter sweeps widen the stereo field as flickering radio static drifts in and out, a found-sound detail that never repeats the same way twice. The occult drone pads thicken behind the violin, and pitched-down chops flicker like half-heard voices in a station tunnel.
By the close the violin thins to single sustained notes, the bell keeps tolling, and the rain stick fades last, leaving the sub-bass alone in the dark. Nothing resolves loudly. It just stops being there.
