The story

The track opens low, almost underground, a sub-bass hum that sits at 30-60Hz and never really lets go. It reads less like a bassline and more like a floor vibrating under a stone circle. Somewhere above it, a rebab starts bowing a plaintive, ornamented line, thin and human against all that weight.

Half-time kick and snare arrive soft-edged, felt rather than struck, brushed and buried in reverb. No clicks, no snap, just a pulse that breathes. Hammered dulcimer notes shimmer in and out, catching light like something metallic left out in the desert sun. Distant bell tolls mark time from somewhere off in the dark.

Around the midpoint the wobble sub deepens and chord stabs stretch into long delay trails, feedback curling back on itself. Sonar pings drift through the stereo field like something scanning the dark. The rebab returns more insistent, phrasing longer, more urgent, riding over the earth-breathing low end.

By the close everything folds back toward silence, the sub-bass the last thing standing, the bell tolls spaced further apart until they stop. It doesn't resolve so much as it recedes, like headlights pulling away from a ritual left unfinished.

Late night driving on empty highways, deep focus work after midnight, ambient meditation sessions, or as backdrop for slow, dread-tinged visual work.
