The story

The morin khuur enters slow and bent, its horsehair rasp carrying a steppe melody that sounds out of place in the foundry around it, and that tension is the point. Low strings hold an ostinato underneath, deep brass pulses land like distant impacts, and every drum hit is rounded and felt, no click, no edge, just weight.
Midway through, conveyor-belt rhythm and metal-clang percussion tighten the groove without ever brightening it. Hydraulic hiss bleeds in on the transitions, rivets and condensate textures suggest ice on steel, and the hybrid pads swell under the morin khuur's most expressive phrase, the closest thing to a peak this piece allows itself.
It settles rather than resolves. The lead thins out, the sub-bass stays constant to the last second, and the reverb keeps ringing after the instruments have gone quiet, like standing in a gorge at dusk after the cable car has stopped moving.
