The story

Martenot Traffic runs at 116 BPM in G minor, a driven guitar riff in syncopated, palm-muted chugs acting as the engine over a deep kick and round bass. Answering it is an ondes martenot, an eerie electric voice that swoops and glides continuously between notes, closer to a theremin with genuine expressive intent than a fixed-pitch synthesizer lead.

Wah-swept fills and pinch harmonics mark each structural turn in the arrangement, while tube drive keeps the guitar's edge consistently sharp through every repetition of the riff. The first drop hits with the riff at full strength before everything cuts away to leave the martenot alone over a filtered pulse, strange and genuinely exposed in that isolation.

An extended mid-section inverts the original riff and lets the two lead voices chase each other through call and response, guitar and martenot trading the foreground role repeatedly. The last drop lands heavier and wider than the first, before a closing reprise and a slow outro fade bring the piece to rest, the martenot's glide the very last thing audible.

A tense night-traffic sequence, an unconventional electronic listening session, club-leaning instrumental sets, or sci-fi visuals.

«Martenot Traffic» is a mixar piece at 116 BPM in G minor, running 3:38, released August 02, 2026. It streams in the Night Drive and Workout rotations on Dr.DIO Radio — free, 24/7, with new music added daily.
