The story

The track opens low and stays low, a sub-bass hum sitting at 30-60Hz that never really leaves. Around it, a fretless bass slides in with that mwah slur, less a note than a gesture, sliding into pitch rather than landing on it. The half-time kick and snare enter sparse, soft-edged, more felt than heard, like footsteps on stone somewhere below.

Around the two-minute mark the rebab comes forward, bowed and plaintive, phrasing something close to a cry but never resolving it. Hammered dulcimer answers in short shimmering clusters, struck notes that decay into the reverb tail and dissolve. Distant bell tolls and sonar-style pings drift through the stereo field, placed wide, placed far, like signals from another part of the same cavern.

A vox synth layer swells underneath the midsection, wordless, more texture than melody, thickening the drone bed without crowding it. Filter sweeps open and close slowly across the pad stack, and long delay feedback on the chord stabs keeps every hit ringing well past its attack. Nothing rushes. The dread stays constant, low-grade, architectural.

By the final minutes the elements thin out one by one, the dulcimer fading first, then the rebab, until only the sub-bass and a faint bell remain, still pulsing at 140 BPM under a chord that never quite resolves.

Late-night driving, meditation or breathwork sessions, ambient horror or ritual-scene scoring, and deep-focus work after midnight.
