Why there is no collecting society fee

Collecting societies charge for the music of the authors they represent. Dr.DIO is one studio that writes and produces all of its own music and has not given it to any society, so there is no one else to pay.

The Business license is the only permission your venue needs for Dr.DIO music.

Keep the certificate

The certificate names your venue, the address and the license period, and states that the music comes from the Dr.DIO catalogue. If an inspector or a society asks what you play, show the certificate and the player.

Play only Dr.DIO in the venue: other music, the radio or a personal streaming account is not covered by our license.

Do I still need to pay a collecting society?

Not for Dr.DIO music: none of it is registered with ASCAP, BMI, PRS, PPL or any other collecting society. If you also play other music in the venue, that music has its own rules.

What if a society inspector visits?

Show the Dr.DIO certificate for your venue and the player. The certificate states where the music comes from and that your venue holds a license for it.

Can I use a personal plan in my cafe?

No. Free and Club are for personal listening. Playing music to customers needs the Business license for your venue.
