The story

The track opens low, a sub-bass hum sitting under everything before any melody arrives. A Prophet-5 pad unfolds slowly, thick and slightly detuned, filling the stereo field like fog rolling over water. There's no rush here — just pressure building underneath, patient and constant.

Around the first minute the duduk enters, distant and breathy, wailing a line that never quite resolves. Viola answers underneath it, warm and close-mic'd, holding the middle register while the Juno arp starts cascading in the back, chorus-soaked and ticking like a slow clock. Wordless vocal hums drift in and out, mixed low, more texture than voice.

Midway through, the arp thickens and the brass-like Prophet lead takes over the main theme, wide and glossy, tape echo smearing its edges. The drums stay minimal — soft kicks, no clicks, no hard transients — just enough pulse to keep the 104 BPM honest without breaking the drift. Silence gets used deliberately here, pockets of near-nothing between phrases.

By the final stretch everything thins back out. The duduk returns one last time over a bare sub-bass pulse, the arp fades to a whisper, and the vocalise hums the track out into reverb. It ends the way it began — low, wide, and unresolved.

Late-night drives, film scoring reference, focused study sessions, or winding down before sleep.
