The story
Serpent Chassis shares its structure with a companion piece, running at 116 BPM in G minor with a driven guitar riff in syncopated, palm-muted chugs acting as the engine over a deep kick and round bass. Answering it once more is an ondes martenot, its eerie electric voice swooping and gliding between notes like a theremin with genuine expressive character.
Wah-swept fills and pinch harmonics mark the same kinds of transitions as its companion piece, tube drive keeping the guitar's edge sharp throughout. The first drop again hits with the full riff before everything cuts to the martenot alone over a filtered pulse, the exposed isolation carrying a slightly different tension in this version's chassis-and-motion framing.
An extended mid-section inverts the riff and lets the two voices chase each other through the same call-and-response structure, guitar and martenot trading the foreground repeatedly. The last drop lands heavier and wider than the first, before a reprise and a slow outro fade bring the serpent's long chase to its final, unhurried rest at the very end.
A companion chase-themed piece, unconventional electronic listening, club-leaning instrumental sets, or sci-fi visual soundtracks.
