The story
The track opens already submerged. Sub-bass sits under everything at a near-constant hum, 30 to 60Hz, less a note than a pressure change in the room. Mellotron choir drifts in above it, slow and unresolved, the phrygian half-step giving the whole thing a tilted, unsettled floor to stand on.
Around the second minute the Bulgarian choir enters in tight dissonant thirds, close-mic'd and human, trading phrases with a hushed female vocalise that hums rather than sings. Nothing is oversung. The voices sit low in the mix, more texture than lead, while a reverse vocal ghosts backward through the stereo field like something replaying wrong.
Percussion stays minimal and rounded, no clicks or snare cracks, just soft-attack hits that mark time beneath the drone. Sonar pings surface at intervals, filtered and underwater, before the arrangement pulls back for a massive sub-drop on the downbeat, bass swelling until it swallows the choir whole.
By the final third the piece thins out again, reverse vocals and mellotron trading the last few phrases over a bass that never fully lets go. It doesn't resolve so much as fade below the threshold it started at, leaving the sub-hum as the last thing standing.
For late-night headphone sessions, dark ambient study blocks, horror or liminal-space video work, and slow tension-building scenes that need weight without noise.
