The story
Iron Choir shares its foundry setting with a companion piece, set at 84 BPM in C minor with a massive hydraulic press again standing in for the drum motor, its hard, slamming physical pulse anchoring the whole arrangement. The whine of a grinding wheel morphs into a talkbox guitar voice here as well, the machine once more learning to sing as its pitch settles into the root note.
Bursts of steam hiss bloom into shimmering cymbal washes, and hammer strikes on metal resolve into a tuned bell melody that carries the second theme, tubular bells ringing with a slightly different phrasing than the companion version. The first climax again brings the press, the bell melody, and the singing grinder together into one dense foundry-forged wall of sound.
A long bare valley follows, only the naked press pulse echoing through an empty hall, before the bell theme returns darker and builds toward a second climax higher than the first. The talkbox machine voice howls over the pounding press through to the close, this version's shorter run compressing the arc into a tighter, more urgent shape than its companion piece.
A companion foundry piece, an industrial listening session, heavy machinery visuals, or focused intense work sessions.
