When myNoise is the better choice

myNoise gives you control Dr.DIO cannot: a very large library of soundscapes you can tune in detail. If you want a specific noise or texture, myNoise is the tool.

It is ad free, and the app uses one time purchases ($19.99 Full Access or $14.99 All You Can Hear) instead of a subscription.

When Dr.DIO fits better

If you prefer music to noise, Dr.DIO plays ambient stations such as Deep Ocean, Cosmic Drift and Night Calm, plus 119 hour long mixes in 4K on YouTube. The radio is free.

myNoise generators are for personal use, and its FAQ says it is not eager to license them for public use. Dr.DIO sells a Business plan for venues that want ambient music, for its own music only.

Questions

Is there an alternative to myNoise?

Noisli is another sound mixer. If you want music rather than noise, Dr.DIO plays free ambient and downtempo radio with no ads.

Is myNoise free?

A selection of generators is free on the website, ad free, and supported by donations (suggested $5 a month or $10 to $30 one time). The app is free to download with some generators free.

Can I use myNoise commercially?

myNoise says its generators are for personal use only; commercial or public use needs a license decided case by case, and its FAQ says it is not eager to license. For venues Dr.DIO sells Business at $14.99 a month per venue, with a public playback license and certificate for Dr.DIO music. In some countries collecting societies may presume all music is theirs (GEMA in Germany, for example), so the venue may need to show it plays only non managed music, and any other music it plays still needs its own licenses.

myNoise vs Noisli: where does Dr.DIO fit?

Both are sound generators. Dr.DIO plays composed music and has no noise generator, so it is a choice for people who want tracks instead.

Is there a soundscape player online?

myNoise is a soundscape generator online. Dr.DIO is an online radio of ambient music, free to play in the browser.
