When YouTube Audio Library is the better choice
The YouTube Audio Library is free, includes sound effects, and YouTube says its downloaded tracks won't be claimed through Content ID. Partner Program members can monetize videos that use it. For a YouTube only channel on no budget, it is hard to beat.
Dr.DIO's free account asks for a credit line and has a limit of 10 tracks a month.
When Dr.DIO fits better
The Audio Library is found only in YouTube Studio, and YouTube says it can't give legal guidance on use outside the platform. Dr.DIO terms are about your own videos, not one platform.
Dr.DIO has a distinct catalog of downtempo, ambient, deep house, synthwave and lounge from one studio, so your music sounds less like everyone else's.
Creator ($9.99 a month) adds 100 downloads a month as FLAC masters and MP3, and the radio as background for live streams.
How to try Dr.DIO
- Listen to the free radio on drdio.studio and note the tracks that fit your videos.
- Sign in with Google or Apple for a free account and use up to 10 tracks a month with the credit line.
- Move to Club ($2.99 a month, 30 tracks without credit) or Creator ($9.99 a month, 100 downloads in FLAC and MP3) when you need more.
