When Spotify is the better choice
Spotify has a vastly larger catalog, every genre, and many editorial focus, lofi and ambient playlists. It plays on almost every device, from smart TVs to consoles and cars.
If you want famous artists or pop, rock and hip hop, Spotify has them and Dr.DIO does not.
When Dr.DIO fits better
Dr.DIO free radio has no ads, while Spotify free is ad supported. Stations such as Deep Focus follow the hour of the day.
Spotify terms allow personal, non commercial use only. Dr.DIO lets free accounts use 10 tracks a month in their own videos with a credit line, and Club 30 a month without one.
For a cafe or shop, Spotify is not licensed. Dr.DIO Business covers public playback of Dr.DIO music, with caveats explained below.
